Where's the time for that?

"Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there." Will Rogers

I don't see how I can get through some days and not accomplish what I set out to do. It is even more discouraging when it occurs for a month or longer. To do lists of things I want to do and need to do litter the house. It doesn't really matter if I write it down. The significance comes when I take action and do something.

Some of my notes:

Pray for a friend having surgery

Write a thank you note

Make a call about a work need

Get in touch with people for a class

Pay bills

Check in with a hurting friend

I'm aware of what needs to be done. It's just getting busy making a plan and doing it.

"Nobody makes a greater mistake than he who does nothing because he could only do a little." Edmund Burke

Prayer for Making Time:

God, there is so much to do. I feel like every day is packed full, sometimes without any ability to take a breath. I rush and rush around and get overwhelmed with the tasks I need to do. I need to have more time with you during all the busy times in my life. Will you help me to pray more when I am busier? Will you help me sort through my day and to prioritize all that I need to do? Will you give me the sleep and rest I need but also the initiative and the ability to be busy doing your work when I need to get something done.

Let me not err on being too busy or not busy enough. Help me to use my time wisely, not rushing around, having no chance to rest nor lying around, squandering my time. Guide me with my schedule. Help me to not just react to events in my day but to set a plan. Let me not just "shoot from the hip" as I pass hour after hour but to balance all things that need to be done.

Jesus never walked around frantic and overwhelmed and He had such a huge mission to accomplish. Help me to be committed to the plan and purpose you have for my life and not to add additional activities that crowd out your greater good.

Guide me Lord to live the life you desire for me at the pace you want me to live it.

"Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need." Matthew 6:33
